I had a set... it lasted about 3000km with lots of mountain driving. They are a bit noisy too, but awesome tires.

some of our Lotus customers use these. They last a hard track day and a half to 2 track days, no lie.

Record holder is Pirelli Corsa System at 60 tread wear lasted one of customers one full day of hard running

I drove some Yokahamma A008's back in the day they were great on the street, you are screwed if it rains though. I think they did two autocross seasons and maybe 300 miles on the hwy.

Haven’t run them but I imagine that a 100 treadwear tire is going to melt in about 1000 miles tops or one track day.

Beyond the tread life, the bigger problem long-term use on the street will probably be that R compound tires tend to really go off after a relatively small number of heat cycles. After a certain point they’ll start to get hard and stop softening up at temperature. At that point they may last awhile, but they’ll be pretty slick to drive on.

Have you had any customers run the Pilot Cup 2? I’m curious how long that lasts.

Evora 400/V12 Vantage owners go through them quick but not sure on exact numbers. More so Evora because of the geometry of the suspension compared to the Vantage’s still sort of more DD ability. I see those a lot on DBS also, extremely odd because those drivers hardly ever drive their cars let alone push them hard. It may be just that rare 8-9 cars that came in at a similar time for me to notice but either way it’s odd for such a extreme performance tire.

Yeah I’m surprised Aston even specks them, especially on the Vantage. Maybe it’s the customers ordering them instead of the better daily driver Pilot Super Sport because they think more expensive is better?

lol I could see that. When they want tires from us (not sure why pay so much markup via the dealer) they tend to ask, “what are the best tires?” Not “what are the best tires for X type of driving” or something like that. Just generic questions like that....always... about anything :(

Because rich people! But if you go to America’s Tire you hear “What’s the cheapest tire” because cheap ass people.
